Basic Excel training

Course Description:

Improving Work Habits
Absenteeism . . . Repeated tardiness . . . Conduct . . . Dress code . . If your team leaders are faced with these or other work habit issues, this module will show them how to improve these issues. Merely quoting company regulations to the noncompliant worker will not solve the problem. The truly effective team leader immediately addresses poor work habits in a supportive, non-threatening way.
Course Length: Classroom 4-hours

Performance Assessment
This module teaches the way an evaluation is done by the experts. First, relevant performance standards are established. Then, the team member's own performance evaluation is solicited. This accomplished, the stage is set for a summary evaluation that will be clear and credible to the team member. Course Length: Classroom 4-hours

Communicating with Your Manager
Most managers and team leaders realize the importance of upward communication, but few accept their own managers. Managers and team leaders will learn how to model communication so that a desired result is achieved. Course Length: Classroom 4-hours


Introduction to Computers

This class explores the computer desktop, its applications, menus and command functions and provides an excellent grounding in basic word processing, spreadsheets and Internet capabilities.


Microsoft Access

Learn to use Microsoft Access productively. Study the relationship between all elements of this versatile database software through principles of table design and relationships, forms and reports. Introductory and Intermediate classes are available.


Microsoft Access Brush Up

This course is for those who currently use Microsoft Access at a beginners or intermediate level. If you need to review functionality or would like to improve your abilities, this class is for you. Attendees are highly encouraged to submit, at least one week in advance, any specific questions that they may have regarding Microsoft Access.Course topics will include:

  • Tables
  • Queries
  • Forms
  • Reports

Access tips and tricks will be provided along the way.


Microsoft Excel - Advanced

Microsoft Excel allows the entry, calculation and management of data in electronic spreadsheets.The introductory class introduces participants to these elements, while the Advanced Excel class examines sorting and consolidating data and how to create, modify and format charts and use graphics.

Microsoft Excel Brush Up

This course is for those who currently use Microsoft Excel at a basic or intermediate level. If you need to review functionality or would like to improve your abilities, this class is for you. Attendees are highly encouraged to submit, at least one week in advance, any specific questions that they may have regarding Microsoft Excel.The course will address the following:

  • linked cells
  • calculations
  • logical “If” statements
  • macros
  • importing/exporting data
  • sorting data
  • formatting data

Excel tips and tricks will be provided along the way.


Microsoft Office Shortcuts: Tips & Tricks

This course increases Office efficiency by detailing the use of Shift key-presses, Function keys, Control-Shift key-presses and Alt-Tab and other shortcut commands for use with the Microsoft Office suite of Excel, Word and Outlook.


Microsoft Outlook

Outlook is a versatile electronic mail application which also includes a Journal and Calendar – an electronic desktop organizer. Participants in this class explore the additional features offered by Outlook and learn to set up and schedule tasks, make journal entries and gain organizational efficiency in combination with Outlook e-mail.


Microsoft Powerpoint

PowerPoint is a powerful presentation tool. This class provides training in the creation of professional looking presentations, taking full advantage of charts, tables and animation. Introductory and Advanced classes are available to ensure development of the full range of skills.


Microsoft Project

If you need your projects to stay on track and within budget then you need this class! You will learn how to use this software to create a project plan, fine tune it and track and review your progress. Also included will be ideas on identifying and finding solutions to project problems.


Microsoft Publisher

This desktop publishing and design application offers the creation of a variety of publications including newsletters, calendars, brochures, reports and marketing material and develops skill in the use of clipart, graphics and graphic editing.


Microsoft Word

This course explores the word processing features inherent to Microsoft Word and provides training in the use of many of them including Style, Templates and Mail Merge, with the Advanced level extending and expanding skills and efficiencies in the creation of professional documents and reports.


Microsoft Word Brush Up

This course is for those who currently use Microsoft Word at beginners to advanced levels. If you need to review functionality or would like to improve your abilities, this class is for you. Attendees are highly encouraged to submit, at least one week in advance, any specific questions that they may have regarding Microsoft Word.The following will be discussed in the course:

  • Fonts
  • Paragraph formatting
  • Mail Merges
  • Tables
  • Headers and Footers
